Nagesh Ghodke

If India’s soul lives in its villages, then Nagesh Ghodke is undoubtedly the virtuoso who brings this soul to life with his brushstrokes. He has created a distinctive style of depicting the architecture of villages. The buildings featured in his works appear to be a blend of traditional Indian architecture and the yellow typical of Mediterranean homes. The buildings occupy a multidimensional, stacked space on his canvas and are an interesting interpretation of the rural aesthetic. The people in his works are simple and often engrossed in day-to-day activities. Reds, blues and greens are the stars of his colour palette and form the soul of his abstract acrylic on canvas “villagescapes.”

He obtained a Bachelors degree in Art from the renowned L.S. Raheja School of Art, Mumbai and has several shows to his credit. A favourite of critics and connoisseurs alike, Nagesh is one of today’s leading young artists and his works are already among the most coveted and admired today.
