One of our most compelling and accomplished artists, Bhaskar Rao Botcha celebrates his love for trees in his works. He brings to life his lifelong love for nature through his paintings of his muse – trees.

His use of acrylic, along with interesting colour schemes and several layers of detailed textures endow his works with depth and a wonderful sense of realism. Bhaskar’s trees are not painted a monotonous green; rather his trees are often accorded a bold persona, with the use of blacks, greys, whites and reds. His works place a reverence upon vrikshas or trees and highlight the transcendent bond between nature and human beings. There is frequently a dramatic background that plays foil to a tree with more subtle colours, thus making the viewer appreciate the depth of the tree in greater detail.

Rao obtained a BFA degree from Andhra University Visakhapatnam and an MFA from University of Hyderabad, and has received acclaim at many solo and group shows, in addition to also receiving awards and felicitations. His vibrant works leave the viewer riveted and are unparalleled in their sense of depth and drama.
